I have 2 girlfriends who may be interested in coming on this trip.
Neither have ever kayaked before, so wondering if this would be an appropriate trip for them ? They will also need to rent kayaks so what is the total cost of the trip in that case, including permit if needed. What will low and high temps be in the canyon be ? What is the mph flow in the river, how long will it take us to paddle to Willow Beach ( I assume that is where we are taking out ).

Is the Black Canyon meetup still on with just 2. I was confused that signups closed on Jan. 5th. I was interested in trying to coordinate this outing with LVMC but gave up the idea thinking that it would be a logistical nightmare. If you are open to having a few more people go I could put it on the LVMC message board and see if anyone was interested? They would then make their own arrangements for permit, boat, etc. I will need a permit AND a boat. I can get both by calling Desert Adventures?

Hi Izzy, I am interested in co-coordinating a meetup to Kayak and hike Black Canyon.
I am an organizer for the Las Vegas Mountaineers club
and I am sure that some of our membership would be interested. Doing joint meetup with the Las Vegas Kayakers might ensure enough signups to make it happen, and maybe a group discount on equipment rentals ? I would also like someone to guide the group, as I'm a novice kayaker, and have never done the Black Canyon float. Let me know what you think.

Hi Izzy, When i saw that paper on my dashboard i thought the federal bureau of beach parking security finally caught up with me. No need to brace much in the Sweet Potato until the sail go's up and then i turn into Bracey Mac Bracerson.

My next paddle will be a fiberglass Greenland. I'm not a big carbon fiber fan, it's like my heart, when it gets banged around it's achey breaky .Fiberglass takes a lickin' and keeps on ticken'. Who wants to hold on to a black paddle that's been sitting out in 130 F sun all day. Some day I'll make one to fry eggs on. I'll see you when the bridge is done since It looks like summer biz is keeping you out of the shop. Ciao Boss.
